This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, how Capsule Insights intends to handle data during the beta prototype.

Information You Provide
Capsule may process user-generated content such as pasted transcripts, podcast notes, URLs, generated summaries, insights, actions, topic preferences, and account settings.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit content to Capsule Insights.
OpenAI Processing
When OpenAI is configured, pasted text and transcript content may be sent to OpenAI to generate summaries, insights, suggested actions, and personalised interpretation.
AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or missing important context. Do not submit content you are not comfortable processing through configured AI providers.
OpenAI retention and processing depends on provider terms, settings, and Capsule deployment configuration.
If OpenAI is not configured, Capsule uses mock summaries locally so the prototype remains usable.
Third-Party Processors
Capsule may use third-party providers where configured, including OpenAI for AI processing, Supabase for auth/database, Resend for email, Stripe for billing, Vercel for hosting, and future analytics or error tracking providers.
Each provider may process different data categories for a limited operational purpose. Actual processing depends on environment configuration and production deployment choices.
Read the dedicated Subprocessors and Data Flows page for provider-by-provider details.
Email Delivery
When email delivery is configured, recipient email addresses and email content may be processed through Resend or an equivalent provider.
If email credentials are missing, Capsule uses mock email mode and does not send real email.
Analytics and Cookies
Capsule includes a privacy-conscious analytics abstraction. Analytics are disabled by default in this alpha and should not collect transcripts, summaries, email addresses, or secrets.
Cookies or local storage may be used for demo sessions, preferences, saved summaries, action states, and product analytics placeholders.
Stripe and Payments
If Stripe is configured, payment and subscription flows may be handled by Stripe. Capsule should not store full card details.
Billing metadata such as plan, subscription state, and customer identifiers may be stored for subscription management.
Supabase and Account Data
If Supabase is configured, account records, saved content, summaries, insights, topics, actions, and email preferences may be stored in Supabase.
Without Supabase configuration, Capsule runs in local demo mode using browser storage.
Retention and Deletion
During beta, local demo data can be cleared from the browser by clearing site storage. Production deletion workflows should allow users to request account and content deletion.
Retention periods, backup deletion timing, and support workflows should be finalised before public launch.
Read the dedicated Data Retention and Deletion Policy for more detail.
Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to be informed, access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, restrict processing, receive portable data, object to certain processing, and complain to a supervisory authority.
Read the dedicated Privacy Rights page for the current UK GDPR-ready placeholder process.
